My mother purchased this very practical little car during a stay in England. She brought it back to Australia in 1982 and kept it in showroom condition until deciding to buy a new car in 2002.
New main bearings are required to fix some sloppiness caused by the life of stopping and starting for mainly short runs. Otherwise, the 2T engine starts and runs well, with no difficulty in maintaining freeway speeds.
The main difficulty I will face is local unprocurability of body parts. Any damage will require importing of parts from Japan. For starters, the local Toyota dealer has tried for over a year to get me some little rubber inserts for the rear door strikers. No luck yet!
